The LINK system of cutting tool adapters is a unique
and patented technique which is designed to enable short generic drill
inserts to be used in place of special extended length custom tools.
This cost-effective system represents an outstanding alternative
that utilizes reusable components to conserve material waste and excess
storage and reduce tool inventories.
The
Unidapt System is based upon the concept of a locking taper which secures
the insert within the tool holder without slippage or backlash.
The tool holders are offered in a variety of drive types to suite
the specific machining application. These
include a straight shank adapter for conventional milling applications, a
Morse Taper Tool Holder for drilling operations and a taper shank extender
for use in extremely hard to reach situations where more than one adapter
is required.
These
precision adapters are tool hardened and black oxide coated to assure
durability for years of dependable use.
The wide array of sizes enable use in most conventional tooling
applications. Note that the use of multiple extenders enables an extremely
long reach with the standard components.
In addition LINK can provide special extended length or diameter
adapters to suit custom applications. The precision locking taper that
interfaces each component of the system assures a positive junction
through which to transmit power with absolutely no slippage.
The
drill inserts are available in a wide assortment of sizes and tip forms.
The entire range of LINK tools are offered as inserts to allow
their use for many machining operations.
In this way the same generic drill tips may be used for many
applications precluding the need for many extended length tools.
Furthermore the breakage of a tool requires the riser to replace
only the small drill insert instead of an entire extended length tool.
The
diagram below and the tools specified in the following pages provide a
description of the available tools. Special
and custom tools are available.
