Product Overview
For over 50 years LINK has been a
hallmark of cutting tool quality for centerdrills, combination drills and
countersinks. Link Industries offers a proprietary flute form that
facilitates a smooth and easy chip flow minimizing heat generation and
subsequent chip buildup. The LINK Unidapt System offers extended tool length
in combination with generic, low cost tool inserts to improve work
efficiency and operational costs. To optimize the machining operation, LINK
offers a variety of tip forms designed to suit each application with optimal
hole contour. LINK also manufactures a wide range of custom high-speed
drills.

ST Type Centerdrill
Hey Drill Type ST
This is our standard drill
type which is used for a wide range of general centering and spotting
applications of the work piece. This drill type is ideal for centering parts
to be turned between centers. It features a 118° tip angle and a single
taper of 60° between the tip diameter and the shank diameter.
|
 |
|
R Type Radial Centerdrill
The R Type Radial
Centerdrill is used where the most precise centering applications are
required. The sweeping curved contour of the Type R drill provides an
increased cross-sectional area that is directly related to the depth of the
cut and the resulting tool force. The tip angle is 134°.

S Type Centerdrill
B Type Centerdrill
Hey Drill B Type Bell
The S and B Type
Centerdrills are dual-purpose drills used for the heaviest duty burnishing
and chamfering applications. The drills have a smoothly blended 60°
chord-curve band design, followed by an 82° flare for the S Type and a 120°
flare for the B Type. The preformed 60° band produces a preformed protected
band. The flares give the tools their dual-purpose capabilities as well as a
fatigue strength equivalent to the R Type Radial Centerdrill. The S and B
Type Centerdrills produce a preformed band ample to support the heaviest
parts. The flare automatically results in a safety center that is easily
lubricated.

LINK Counterbores and
Countersinks are available with a straight shank for standard chucking or
use with collet holders in both Metric and English sizes. The LINK Counterbore is designed to drill and to provide clearance for a socket
head cap screw in a single operation. The LINK Countersink is specially
formed to match the contour of a flat or oval headed screw.

Materials
LINK
Drills are manufactured from the finest U.S. tools steels. Drills are
engineered to combine the appropriate drill form with the optimal
material to precisely suit
each application. The normally available materials are specified with
the corresponding hardness values. Special materials and material hardness's
are available to suit unique machining applications.
